Puttin' on the Ritz

Fred Astaire - What a wonderful dancer.

When he danced it seemed so effortless but he started dancing at the tender age of 4 yrs - so had plenty of practice.

He started performing with Ginger Rogers in 1933.

This partnership proved to be immensly popular and succesful and they starred together in many films.

It was said they had a special chemistry.

They performed routines that were complicated or Ballroom sequences that were romantic in content.

Sadly he died on 22nd June, 1987.

He was 88 years old.

During his career he made 31 musical films - too many to have a favourite - they were all good.

A sample of his dancing with Ginger Rogers -
