Rudolf Nereyev

Just has to be one of the most famous of Male Ballet Dancers.

Men were first to dominate this style.

He was born in Russia in 1938 - he died in 1993.

He had many dance partners but he formed a long standing dance partnership with Margot Fonteyn.

In 1962 he made his first appearance in London with the Royal Ballet.



Mikhail Nikolaevich Baryshnikov -

one of the greatest performers of this style of the 20th century.

Born in 1948 - he was a member of the 'New York City Ballet'



Vatslav Nijinsky - born in 1989 - died on 8th April, 1950.

Some of his lead parts were in - Fokin's productions of Pavilion of Armida, Egypt Nights, and Chopeniana.
