Three time Champion Jockey.

Some of his victories in the racing circle include - the King George V1 Chase, Grand Nationals and the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

In May he completed the 1,000 mile challange, it took place in Newmarket.

He walked one mile per hour - for 1,000 consecutive hours.

That stamina will come in handy with his dance training.

His autobiography is titled Obsessed.

This was published after his retirement.

For the comeptition his professional dance partner will be - Lilia Kopylova.

Richard has said he will do his very best in this competition.
