Street Dance
Street Dance - this is a term used to cover other styles of dancing, such as - Hip Hop, a style that has been around for about 25 years! Breaking, you need to be fit for this one! Locking, a demanding style to perfect. Krumping, urban - with loads of energy. Popping.. a style coming from the 1970's. Waving.. Lots of fluidity with this one! Robotics Dance Style.. Dimestops - read on to find out what this is. House Dance.. is fast and can be complex. Street Jazz.. A mixture of Hip Hop and Jazz.
If you are looking for an example of this style of dance - then please watch "Streetdance 3D".
This is a brilliant film.
A dance crew who are in training for the UK Streetdance Championships end up working with dancers from the Royal Ballet, in turn for rehearsal space.
As you can imagine - the two groups of dancers - do not have a lot in common, so feelings are fragile, but they realise they have to work together as a team to win.
There are some excellent performances from Flawless, George Sampson and Diversity .
From the Ballet scene - are Matthew Bourne and actor Richard Winsor.
I enjoyed this film - I'm sure you will too.
