Strictly Week 12

Strictly Week 12 - Live from London - courtesy of the BBC.

The 1/4 finals - with only four couples left and this week an extra judge - Darcey Bussell

First to dance Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna dancing the Tango.

She 'stumbled' at the start of the performance but it was a good effort.

The judges said she attacked the dance. One mentioned the 'blunder' at the start, another said she had a lot of balance issues.

The couple scored a total of 42 points.

For their second dance they performed the Samba.

It was a good effort.

The judges said it was magnificent. Although her hips could have had more action, the performance was too light and fluffy - not strong enough.

The couple scored a total of 44 points.

This gave them a grand total of 86.

Second up were Laila Rouass and Anton Du Beke dancing the American Smooth.

She also had a little 'stumble' at the start but otherwise it was a smooth performance.

But the judges said - poor posture throughout and unfinished lines, they did mention the stumble too. They said they were expecting more form her.

The couple scored a total of 33 points.

For their second dance they performed the Salsa.

All I can say is 'oh dear'.

The judges said 'no rhythm'. They said it was a mess, no hip action or anything.

The couple scored a total of 26 points.

Third to dance were Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan - dancing the Waltz.

I thought it was a good performance.

The judges said posture and hold were better, very good in fact. One said, confident and composed. Another said it was danced well but he still needs to relax.

The couple scored a total of 41 points.

For their second dance they performed the Samba.

A good performance.

The judges said he didn't do much work and there were a lot of repeated steps. One said it was 'full-on' - overall a good job. Another said it needed more bounce action but he 'smashed' it.

The couple scored a total of 39 points.

This gave them a grand total of 80.

It was a good performance.

A great job.
