Strolls

I first came across Strolling when I attended a Rock and Roll week-ender.

There are many different types of strolls and I will cover as many of them as I can.

A stroll basically is a series of moves danced to music in a repatative way, i.e. repeating each sequence of moves time after time until the end of the music.

Here are some of the Strolls I have come across.

Please let me know if there are any I've misssed and I will add them in - I always like to hear from my readers.

'Tailfeather'.

'Madison'.

'Shim Sham'.

'Charleston Stroll'

Jitterbug Stroll'

'Guaglioni Stroll'

What normally happens with Strolling is that one person starts, then a couple of others join in, until eventually you get a whole dance floor full of people strutting their stuff.

There are some more modern equivalents of strolling, such as the 'Bus Stop' which was featured in Saturday Night Fever.

Then more recently the 'Macarena'.
